MLK Properties is an industryleading builder of both residential and commercial construction projects in the Lower Mainland and Okanagan of British Columbia. For over 10 years, they have been designing and building classic, heritage-style homes that stand the test of time and give clients a measurable increase in their investment. More recently, they have branched out to cover retail, manufacturing, and a variety of interesting modular initiatives. In all sectors, they strive to minimize their environmental footprint, to build to the highest quality of workmanship, and to provide their customers with the highest quality experience. Lloyd Kinney, founder and director of MLK Properties, started the company in 2010. Prior to that, Lloyd owned a business in a different industry, while his wife Adrienne worked as a designer. Together, they embarked on building a custom home for themselves in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland, and they really enjoyed the process. “That got us interested in starting our own construction company,” Lloyd recalls. Originally, MLK Properties focused on designing and building custom homes for clients. In the years that followed, the company grew quickly in terms of size and reputation, and they started fielding requests for commercial jobs. After a couple of successful projects in that sector, their reputation as a commercial contractor started to rival their reputation as a residential one. Over the years, the company has also expanded geographically. They began by focusing on the Lower Mainland, where they lived, but then recently started branching out and covering the Okanagan.
