respect them and what they do.” Verhoef Electric strives to demonstrate that respect in a variety of ways, Kevin explains: they are flexible when it comes to family emergencies, they offer benefits like health programs, they host two or three company events per year, and they treat them respectfully in the office and on site. The company also gives back to the community, which Kevin believes also contributes to that internal loyalty. For example, he says they have worked with Habitat for Humanity, and they’ve done some wiring retrofits for two local foodbanks. He believes that community outreach is personally rewarding for a lot of their team members, who are quick to volunteer and contribute. “Our guys really love to use their skills and abilities to help others,” Kevin says. “We try to facilitate that as much as we can.” NOVEMBER 2023
