We want to ensure they can successfully feed our population.” “A couple of years ago a statistic came out that said that by 2050 we’d need to increase our current food production by 100 per cent,” he adds. “One way we can do that is to find more land. Another way is to use irrigating solutions to increase the productivity of existing land – and that’s what we’re all about. We’re trying to implement technology and intelligent solutions to increase the efficiency of land.” Southern Irrigation doesn’t just want to do that in Western Canada, however. Peter says that one of their key goals is to expand their reach to the rest of Canada. “You’re going to see us grow a lot over the next few years,” he concludes. “We’re growthminded.
