The Construction Source

The company also wants to continue growing – and not just for the sake of growth itself, but for their employees specifically. They want to provide pathways for professional development. That’s a key piece of their corporate culture. Drew can personally attest to that – he started as just an estimator, but over the years he’s risen through the ranks and taken on moreoperational responsibility. “We want to give our guys and girls a healthy space to grow,” he says. “That’s something we focus on. We have such a great team, and we want to retain them. That’s a big part of how we do that.” Lastly, moving forward, Ecklundson Construction Group also aims to do more to engage with and support their local community. In recent years, they haven’t been able to do as much as they would like due to COVID, but they are very interested in getting more involved. For example, during the most recent holiday season, the company partnered with a local food bank and conducted multiple food drives. They are alsoproud long-timesupporters of local youth sports, including the Nanaimo Timbermen (a Senior A Box Lacrosse club), the Nanaimo Hornets RFC (Rugby Football Club), and the Vancouver Island Raiders (a Canadian Junior Football team based in Nanaimo). “We are entrenched in this community,” says Marcus Morosan, Marketing & Promotions Coordinator. “That’s something we want our clients and all our stakeholders to know. That’s a message we want to get out there. This is the community that made us, and we want to give back to it.” MARCH 2022
