Since then, Those Guys Plumbing and Electrical has grown and evolved beyond both Tyler and Mike’s initial expectations: “We started out with just the two of us,” Tyler recalls. “We didn’t have any grand ambitions, we thought we’d just do some little jobs – but we gained some traction and we really took off. We grew faster than any of us could have imagined.” Today, Those Guys employs a staff of eight, and they take on a wide range of project sizes and types. These days, a lot of their work is new buildings – everything from residential homes, to retail outlets, car washes, restaurants, and office buildings. Both Mike and Tyler have backgrounds in maintenance, however, and maintenance still accounts for a large percentage of their work: “A lot of well-established companies don’t want the little jobs, they find them annoying, but we enjoy maintenance,” Tyler explains. “We like getting out and talking to people. We like getting around town. We don’t mind doing eight or nine jobs a day.” No matter the size of the job, however, Tyler believes that clients choose Those Guys due to their combination of youth and experience. As previously established, Tyler and Mike have been working together for a while, but they are still relatively young – as is most of their staff. “A lot of companies around here are operated by older people who are maybe a little bit stuck in their ways,” Tyler says. “But JULY 2022
