Taking sustainability seriously Heather formed Dubbeldam Architecture + Design in Toronto in 2002. Prior to starting her career, she lived abroad and travelled extensively, having studied and earnedprofessional experience in Italy, France, Switzerland and Turkey. After returning toToronto, she initially worked with internationallyrecognized architecture firm KPMB Architects for over six years, where she was a team member or project leader on many award-winning private and institutional projects. When she started her own multidisciplinary practice, Heather was already very interested in environmental sustainability. Her commitment to incorporating sustainable design and systems into her projects was baked into Dubbeldam Architecture + Design fromthe start.
