Within each area they work across Ottawa, he says they have built relationships with some of the most reputable and reliable local companies. Many of those relationships date back to before the creation of EkoBuilt. Together with those partners, EkoBuilt has delivered a long list of projects for clients, as well as several display projects. Their first model home, for example, was constructed west of Ottawa in 2015, with the goal of demonstrating what the Passive House Standard was capable of. At the time, Passive-rated homes weren’t as widely known, so Paul and Adam needed to prove – to themselves, as well as clients – that they were capable of delivering one that would perform to the energy standards they promised.
