The Construction Source

FEBRUARY 2021 Signature Homes will import products and design elements from international suppliers. Sunny aims to support local companies where possible, but if he needs to source from Europe or the United States in order to meet a client’s vision, he will not hesitate to do so. Sunny also knows that meeting the client’s vision means delivering every home to a high standard of quality. He says that he ensures that quality by personally being on-site every day. “I visit my job sites every day,” he says. “I don’t have a site supervisor that does the quality checks. I do it myself. I’m hands-on at every stage, right from the excavation to the day that we finish the house and hand over the keys.” Sunny also works with the same group of trade partners and suppliers. He says he has been working with many of those partners for seven years now, and he credits the company’s consistent quality to their efforts. “They know what it is expected,” he says. “They know they’re going to be paid well, they know they’re going to be paid on time, and they know they are going to get treated with respect – and they know that I expect quality in return.” “They also know that I’m not in a rush,” he adds. “A lot of builders will say they can finish an estate product in 12 months. I’m okay with telling the client that I’ll need a year-and-a-half. Because if one of my trade partner says they need five days to do a job, I’m going to give them seven. I’m not going to rush it. When you rush, quality is compromised, and details get ignored. I believe that paying close attention to the finer details makes all the difference.”
