On every job, no matter how large or small, they seek to realize the client’s specific dreams – to “create a home that is completely theirs, inside and out,” according Kyle DenOuden, company founder and president. “We take a very hands-on approach,” Kyle explains. “We oversee the client’s project from start-to-finish. They can relax, knowing that we will take care of everything.” Kyle personally grew up around the construction industry. His father was, and still is, a builder and developer, and he started employing his children at a young age. Growing up, Kyle remembers finishing his days at high school and going straight to job sites. He took a quick liking to the work, and initially pursued a related career as a civil engineering technology. Christine DenOuden makes up the other half of Hickory Homes’ core. She’s a certified interior designer with a similarly longstanding passion for design and building. In 2007, in response to the growing popularity of Prince Edward County, Kyle and Christine teamed up to form Hickory Homes. “At that time, we were seeing the beginning of the boom,” Kyle recalls. “More and more people were leaving Toronto and coming to the Prince Edward APRI L 2021 “We take a very hands- on approach,” Kyle explains. “We oversee the client’s project from start-to-finish.
